Pros

Strong shot-stopping ability

Casillas is highly effective in close-range situations, reacting quickly to block powerful shots inside the box. His reflexes are top-tier, allowing him to make impressive reaction saves.

Solid handling and diving

His handling is reliable, rarely spilling shots or making costly mistakes. His diving ability ensures he reaches well-placed shots, covering the goal effectively.

Good positioning

Casillas reads the game well, often positioning himself correctly to cut down shooting angles and make crucial saves. His awareness helps him anticipate shots before they are taken.

Decent kicking ability

His kicking is fairly accurate, allowing him to distribute the ball efficiently and launch counterattacks when needed.

Cons

Shorter height for a goalkeeper (6’1")

At 6'1", Casillas is slightly undersized for a top-tier goalkeeper. Taller strikers can take advantage of his height with well-placed headers and long-range shots into the top corner.

Inconsistent performances

While he can make world-class saves, he occasionally struggles with positioning and handling under pressure. Compared to other elite goalkeepers, his performances can be unpredictable.

Lack of special traits

Casillas doesn’t have any key goalkeeper traits like Long Thrower or Comes for Crosses, which limits his effectiveness in distribution and aerial situations.

Conclusion

Casillas is a solid goalkeeper with strong reflexes, handling, and diving, but his 6'1" height and inconsistency make him less reliable than other top-tier goalkeepers. The lack of key traits further reduces his effectiveness compared to elite options.
