John Barnes Player Review
Pros
Elite dribbling and agility
Barnes has excellent ball control and dribbling. His agility, body feints, and quick turns allow him to glide past defenders smoothly, making him a serious threat in wide areas.
Great pace with explosive bursts
His high sprint speed and strong acceleration help him beat defenders on the wing and create separation during counters, adding constant pressure to opposing defenses.
Superb crossing and passing
His crossing is especially impressive, delivering accurate balls into the box. Combined with reliable passing, he’s very effective in build-up play and chance creation.
Strong playmaking and positioning
Barnes reads the game well, finding spaces and timing runs that help unlock defenses. He can link up with strikers easily and add variety to attacking plays.
Useful attacking traits
With Finesse Shot, Flair, and Outside Foot Shot traits, Barnes has multiple ways to finish or assist. His outside foot shot makes him less predictable and allows him to use his strong left foot in more situations.
Reliable shooting from range
Normal long shots and powershots from distance are solid, especially with his strong foot. He can score from outside the box with good accuracy and power.
Cons
Weaker right foot limits finishing
As a LW with a strong left foot and only a 4-star right foot, he risks missing chances in critical moments when forced onto his weaker side.
Conclusion
John Barnes is a highly technical and agile winger with excellent dribbling, great pace, and top-class crossing ability. His traits and shooting variety make him very effective in attack, though his weaker right foot is a noticeable drawback in key situations.
