New Star Scout Feature Added in Extra Time
EA Sports FC Mobile has introduced a brand-new feature inside the Extra Time section called Star Scout, bringing a more interactive way for players to use their Extra Time Tokens and hunt for specific event players. This scouting-style mechanic lets you uncover clues about a Mystery Player before deciding whether to spend tokens to claim them.
Here is a full breakdown of how it works.
Where to Find Star Scout

You can access Star Scout inside the Extra Time area of the game. It appears as a new tab within the Extra Time section, alongside existing picks and offers.
In Star Scout, each run centers around a single Mystery Player from a defined OVR range, and your goal is to reveal clues to identify who that player is.
How Star Scout Works - Step by Step
1. Clue Reveals and Costs

Each Mystery Player has up to 6 clues available.
The first clue reveal is free.
After that, each additional clue has an increasing Extra Time Token cost, in this order
- 2nd clue - 150 Extra Time Tokens
- 3rd clue - 250 Extra Time Tokens
- 4th clue - 350 Extra Time Tokens
- 5th clue - 450 Extra Time Tokens
- 6th clue - 550 Extra Time Tokens
If you choose to reveal all 6 clues, the total token cost after the free first clue is:
150 + 250 + 350 + 450 + 550 = 1,750 Extra Time Tokens
You can stop revealing clues at any time and decide to purchase the Mystery Player with the information you have.
2. Types of Clues You Can Get

The clues you reveal can give information such as
- Team
- OVR
- Position
- Program (event)
- Tradability
- Nation
Clues are not in a fixed order. When you tap a clue tile, it will randomly reveal one of these information types. This introduces an element of unpredictability, as you never know which detail you will get next.
3. Interacting With Clue Boxes

Once you decide to reveal a clue
You tap on any clue box on the grid.
You then swipe to reveal the information.
Each revealed clue updates the Mystery Player information shown on the right and narrows down which card it could be.

Buying the Mystery Player
You do not have to reveal all clues to buy the player. At any point, you can choose to purchase the Mystery Player using Extra Time Tokens.
The cost of the Mystery Player is based on the OVR range shown on the right side. For example

A Mystery Player in the 105-109 OVR range costs 4,000 Extra Time Tokens.
Higher OVR ranges will have a higher token cost.
This scaling cost means that better potential rewards require a larger Extra Time Token investment.
Refreshing the Mystery Player
Each Star Scout setup is tied to a single Mystery Player and reward pool for a limited time.
There is a timer showing when the Mystery Player will automatically refresh.

You can also use a manual refresh option (for Gems) if you do not like the current Mystery Player and want to roll for a new one immediately.
When the Mystery Player refreshes, the possible rewards list updates accordingly.
Possible Rewards
On the left side of the Star Scout screen, you can see a list of Possible Rewards that the Mystery Player could be part of. These usually include
Event players within the defined OVR range
Different programs (Anniversary, CONMEBOL, Captains, etc., depending on rotation)
Both tradable and untradable cards, depending on the clue info
The clue system helps you determine which of those possible players is currently behind the silhouette.
Why Star Scout Is Interesting
Star Scout adds a more strategic and interactive way to use Extra Time Tokens compared to simple picks
You can decide how many clues you want before committing tokens to buy the player.
You can walk away if the clues reveal a card you do not want.
Costs ramp up gradually, giving you flexibility to stop at any point.
Mystery Player prices scale with OVR, so you know when you are paying extra for higher potential.
It is a feature that mixes risk, information, and resource management, rewarding players who plan their token usage carefully.
Final Thoughts
The new Star Scout feature in Extra Time gives FC Mobile users a fresh way to chase specific players using a clue-based system rather than pure blind luck. With a free first clue, escalating reveal costs, and OVR-based final purchase prices, it brings more depth to Extra Time Token spending.
